To protect your child, it is essential that you recognize the harsh realities of child sexual abuse. Sadly, most abuse is committed by individuals entrusted to be with your child. In order to keep them safe, everyone must become informed and aware of the threats facing your family.
In response, The RAACE Foundation has developed the Time To Talk Program to help you protect your child. Experts agree that if children are comfortable talking openly with their parents they are more outwardly confident and less likely to become victims of sexual abuse. Additionally, they are more likely to disclose at the first sign of an abusive situation.

The “Circle of Trust” Exercise
Your child’s “Circle of Trust” is comprised of those individuals who have access to your child both on a regular and part-time basis, those that you know and trust. You must take this “Step Up” exercise upon yourself and you will take away the tools an abuser can use against your child. The key to protecting your child is recognizing the fact that 95% of child sexual abuse happens within your “Circle of Trust.”
Commonly, an abuser will develop a safe and comfortable relationship with your child before abuse begins.
Use the Time Parents Guide drop down menu to go to the Step Up exercise or click on the task bar to the right… this may be the most important thing you do for your child.
Time to Talk: Step Three
Educating Your “Circle of Trust”
As part of The RAACE Foundation’s “Time To Talk” program and in support of the steps needed to bring the hidden epidemic of child sexual abuse out of the shadows of the unspoken, you will have to educate everyone within your “Circle of Trust” by getting them The RAACE Foundation’s Parents Guide.
Using The RAACE Foundation’s Parents Guide To Preventing Child Sexual Abuse serves a dual purpose.
This is truly a gift of hope from you to your “Circle of Trust” as well as a preventative step or a warning to a perpetrator should they be hiding within your child’s “Circle of Trust” given the statistic that 95% of child sexual abuse happens within the “Circle of Trust."
Together, simply by talking about it – one family at a time – we can take away the tools of those that abuse our children. The first step is awareness. Please visit The RAACE Foundation’s Knowledge Center to further your knowledge.
